Now how do they decide who owes what if that 90 million and is the court going to garnishee the drivers wages until he pays off the million or so that he’s responsible for? I gotta believe this is for show only and I HOPE TO GOD the jury let the driver off and allocated all 90 million to Werner. Since there was no mention of the driver in the article this MUST be the case? -
WTF? "Werner (a foreign corporation)"
rank Thanks this. -

If things turned out diffrently Warner cound easily have been pulled off the case. Of course there would not have been a 90 million judgement....rank Thanks this. -

OK, here is the link...
It was posed by @drvrtech77 earlier...
Office of Harris County District Clerk - Chris Daniel | Search Our Records
You have to create an account, and then search for the case number "201536666" It was filed 6/25/2015 in court 127 and the case title is "MOAK, ELDRIDGE (GUARDIAN OF THE ESTATE OF BRIANNA BLAKE) vs. ALI, SHIRAZ A"drvrtech77 and gentleroger Thank this. -
What happened to the dude who was positive the Werner driver was not and would never be named a defendant?
spyder7723 and drvrtech77 Thank this. -
Oh, here is a fun one. I'm looking at the images tab. It's scanned images of the court documents.
Title"Questions from the Jury During Deliberations"
Question: " Can we obtain the green book and CDL manual?"
Response: "You have all the evidence admited in this case."
Another tidbit, that gives me slight hope. It was not unanimous. 10 of 12 voted against Werner.
See Charges to the Court, Pg. 24
There are literally 100's of pages of documents that I'm not willing to dig in. In the few I've pulled up it very much looks like the dry motions one would expect.
The document about the award of judgement I could not find, so I don't know how much, if any, the driver has to pay.
Actually the case status is at ":Hold For Judgment", so I'm not seeing where the new reported even got info. Of course it could be it takes a couple weeks to get it in the computer.....Last edited: May 26, 2018
