I was involved in a case. Just a credit card ID stolen thing back before they knew about ID theft. Anyway, I got sent notice papers and never got them for some reason. I did get the default judgement against me and I went back to the judge to get the case reopened so I could actually fight it.
The opposing lawyer actually uttered these words in a court of law. "Can you prove you did not get the notice?"
It took me a good 10 seconds to answer because I could not process a, in theory, professional asking such a question.rank Thanks this. -

if a jury asked to see those two pieces of evidence again and was denied, then WTF is the point. Almost like the whole purpose of the first trial is to F it up so bad they have to hear an appeal......job security. Like why sue a truck driver that’s likely here on a work visa making .30/mile to get a judgment of 90 mill? $90,000,000/.30 = 300,000,000 miles Ali has to drive to pay Werner back LMMFAO. Screw OJ this is the trial of the century Bring on the appeal I can’t wait for the movie

Do I actually feel bad for Werner right now? What the hell is the world coming to?

According to an article in Texas Lawyer, they argued that “They are supposed to slow down to a crawl, which is defined as 15 miles per hour, and the driver is supposed to exit the highway when it’s safe to do so.", and the law firm's press release states "Every state’s Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) manual instructs 18-wheeler drivers to slow to a crawl and get off the road during icy conditions."
I dunno, but am I missing something? I can't find any regulations that use the term "crawl", or define crawl as 15 mph.scottied67 Thanks this. -
