Ask or trainer/manger. If you do you will have to start out again with a different trainer and may have to start all over again. If this is something that can be handled by just stopping by the house then you would stand a better chance. Going home after only 2 weeks out with a trainer is not going to go over well.

Ok thanks. I'll consider my options.

Umm I think they pay you to go for a week home half way done

if you talk to your trainer. See if he or she is willing to take home time then you can run home during that time. That what me and my first trainer did. He took his home time to take care of business and during that time i went home to take care of my business. I just had to be back a day before we left. Your best bet is to talk to your trainer and see what yall can work out

I don't think Werner pays PTO anymore but talk to your trainer and tell him whats up. Then call your SDM first thing Mon morning and let them know whats going on they will rout you to a terminal and get you home. When you come back you will not have to start over your hrs will stay with you but if you are still under curfew you will have to due that over again (2 weeks no driving 12am-6am). You also will probably not get the same trainer all thou you can ask for him(I think this is a new policy as I had a student return from PTO and student placement contacted me as he requested me to train him again).

I just got hired by Werner. You are on the road with your trainer for 6-8 weeks BUT you have two options:
1. You can split it and take a 1 week unpaid home time in the middle of the 6-8 weeks.
2. You can do the entire 6-8 weeks straight through and get a $500 bonus on your first solo delivery, then get 2-5 days of home time.
Its your choice which option you want -
I was a trainer and had students bail out for whatever reason, either trucking wasn't for them, or they missed the house, or had a court date, etc. Werner always told me as the trainer, to tell the student, that as long as they come back within 30 days, there ok to start work again no questions asked. Of course you might have to find your own way home, and back to the Terminal, but yes you can get a LOA if needed. Otherwise, no your stuck on the truck for the 5-6 weeks of training.

Are you homesick or have a family reason? You can go home on FMLA if needed. I have a friend training for Werner who went on leave and only had to complete his 70ish hours when he came back. He was on leave for a couple weeks.

Your not obligated to give them any reason, and they really don't care why either. Just the 30 day rule is all for LOA.
