Not if you have qualified documented experience. I know of a woman who had city bus experience who completed training in about 200 hours.

Im confused if you make .34 cpm and you said you make 1100 a week take home, well .34 times 3500 mi, is 1190.00 before taxes. first problem is your math, second is i know for a fact you cant do 3500 a week at werner i used to work there, I really had no problems with them, but at the same time there was no real money to be made, i also know several werner drivers and the checks AFTER taxes avg around 650.00 a week which is very low for an experianced driver. I personally have 12 years exp. and work for a small refer comp. and as a comp driver at 24% bring home 1200 to 1650 a week AFTER taxes are taken, and my medical bc bs is free as well as my ded,and co pay my comp puts 100 a month into an account out of their pocket for me to use for any presc and co pays. im quite sure you are happy where you are and thats great , but please, save the bs about what you take home cause it doesnt add up. even at .48 cpm you would clear around 950.00 after taxes and ins. and thats 2800 mi a week. Just judging by the math mistake you made it may be that you are a werner office worker who is trying to clean up the rep.lol as this is the norm at all largfe companies. And any company who lowers the drivers pay to stay profitable but not their own pay, well lets just say without the drivers, the trucks dont move, hmmmm.. so why are all the wheels still makin a big check but the spokes who support them get the shaft?

I have seen remarks resembling this on several threads. My request is... Please name an industry where this doesn't happen. Trust me, transportation isn't exclusive.

Maybe I can get out of training early too. I just haven't driven since '87.

    Read what I wrote again.

I started out at 32 cents per mile. I never gave my current rate of pay as I think it's unprofessional to discuss your current rates on public forums. I've been driving for a few years with Werner and knew how to add up the bonuses. A lot of in-city driving brought my average take-home up a few notches.

I don't get a lot of taxes taken out and I didn't have any medical, dental or insurance taken out of that pay, because I don't need it from that company.

Maybe, had I shared my entire financial situation with you guys, you'd be able to better calculate the math. A few people have tried to "call me out" here and it didn't work out for them, either. There's a photo of me with my CDL on a previous page.

Assumptions are not attractive. I'm obviously not a recruiter, otherwise I would have been pimping an employee number out to you guys. I just tell it as I drive it.

    Quick Question:
My bf's teammate quit the job - what happens next?

My bf's teammate was a retirment age man looking to pad his nest egg when he got this job.

After 2 months on the road his shoulder hurt too much and his wife missed him too much so just yesterday the teammate called up my bf and explained the news. He also told Werner.

My bf's christmas break is up today and we're not sure what happens next. The bf is certainly available for work and will alert through qualcomm that he is but we were wondering what the routine is.

My bf would love to travel solo but that's prob not in the cards is it?

Also my bf and his teammate started out in a crappy dirty truck with no APU that was on it's last miles. Just this december Werner gave my bf and his teammate a brand new truck. Plastic still on some parts!

If my bf rides solo will he have to switch trucks?

Any info that anyone has about a teammate leaving the truck (although not on bad terms) is welcome.

Hopefully they will let him run solo. You are asking questions only Werner can answer.

I hope I am lucky after getting my own truck there. Clunker for a little while and a new one once I prove I can do it.
