It is things like this that make me want to stay far far away from Werner. I know it could happen to anybody, but why does it happen to Werner ALL THE TIME?

That driver just wanted to give his big engine a blanket for the night. Them Werner trucks run better when they're warm, ya know!

Cause Werner is cheap-### OTR company. In fact, they are as low as you can go, IMO. Best way to ruin your career is to sign up with these low-life scum.

because sadly, Werner went from a company (many years ago when i first started out, and this was just over 20 years ago) that had STRICT hiring policies of hiring drivers that had at the very minimum, 3 years verified driving experience, and NO STUDENTS...EVER..some companies by the way, had a 5 YEAR experience level YOU NEEDED...!!!

to a company that saw a need for drivers real quick, as this industry has a high turn over rate. given that (again back then) when you went with Werner, Schneider, JB Hunt, Munson, and some others, you WERE LONG HAUL and YOU DID NOT get home for maybe 2 or 3 months...!! this tired drivers, and did not start the driver exodus, from these companies, but certainly lended itself to the over all driver shortage problems many were facing.

so now steps in Werner (and the others) to "lower" thier standards and hire all students and work them to death for LOW wages, and STILL MAKE THEM stay out for months at a time...!!

it all goes to these companies wanting no more than a steering wheel holder to move the freight and keep the stock holders or owners happy.

an accident....??? pffftt.....that's what insurance and firings and DAC is for....you mess up, you get fired and DAC'd BIG TIME, even for the most benign of all incidents that at one time, you only got a slap on the wrist.

in the beginning, JB Hunt drivers were the whipping and "bun boys" of the industry, till JB cleaned up its act......the Swift came in and took over getting all the insults (and still do) and now here is Werner, taking hits in the "dumb@ss student driver's category"....

as long as there WILL BE student drivers, there WILL BE accidents and cut-off's and stupidity out there and we other drivers will embellish on that 1000% of the times.

did any of us "seasoned pro's" make any mistakes...?? of course WE DID, but that was then when truckers took care of themselves and ACCEPTED responsibility for our actions....

"it ain't my fault, must've been the other guy"......(no acceptance of personal responsibility)

and this IS the attitude of the new breed of drivers, who end up at such places like Swift, Werner, etc,etc.......

    today's world.......??

it suck's to be a student driver trying to get into a good company that has a GOOD reputation right out of the box, until one has PROVEN he (or she) is worthy of such a company, by starting at the bottom feeders and DO A GOOD JOB THERE, lest one becomes another statistic and get ridiculed.....and humiliated in front of all who see........
