Sorry to burst your bubble but I am very sure he is a driver. And I have to agree 110% with him. And... I do NOT work for Werner Enterprises.

Don't be afraid to ask about the most important thing... How much will I be paid, how does it work, do I get bonus', how do I get them. ASK ASK ASK. What about benefits, what about hometime, ask anything you want to know. If you feel that the answers arent what you want to hear or the recruiter isn't sure, ask to speak with someone else. It's your future... They won't be the least bit shy about finding out about you, you need to be the same way.
Yes, they do have a large driver turnover, ALL of the big companies do, it's not just Werner, ALL of them do.
Become job smart, ask questions... Good luck in your selection of a company. -

Soooooooo noone asks questions anymore to recruiters? Hell when i was in school, i had the recruiter from Swift on the phone for a frigging hour asking about anything, same with Werner, i grilled them like i was in interrogating a suspect heh. Use your voice, that's why you have 'em. -
Have you ever stopped to think that there are MANY long term drivers working for Werner and the other big companies who have paid their "dues" and make a good living with them?
If you and anyone else who is not happy with Werner or any other company you're with, why don't you leave? I'm sure you can find a driving job somewhere else with someone who will treat you better, not lie and provide you with the miles that you need to survive. But, before you quit, you'd better look around and I would be willing to bet that you'll see the grass isn't greener in fact, it's probably a lot worse.
Do you think that driver didn't pay his "dues" if you do think that you have another thought coming because everyone does.

If you don't have a comment that's reflective to the post, then please move along. -
Anyone who has a beef about their miles should contact the President and/or their elected officials, don't ya think? LOL

Also, yes I'm still here. I'm paying my dues and I have no plans to quit until I get in my magical year. I love what I do, I just don't like being lied to or "tricked" into being a slave driver for .21cpm. Would you have something to say about it? Would you warn others?
I think someone up there was gauking about how much money Werner makes for their shareholders, and that makes them so awesome.... umm, well.. I'll just bite my tongue as I make myself a cheese sandwich.
