werner pretty much expects you to take your truck home. if you live within an hour of a terminal your better off parking your car there though.

Seriously though, werner is a pretty bad place to work. Why bother?

I retired from the Army and I am looking at driving trucks myself. Here are a few things I learned: I plan on going to driving school in Indianapolis. Werner recruits from there. If I go with Werner, they will pay me back my tuition. Also, since I have the GI Bill in my back pocket, the VA WILL pay me my monthly payments while I am driving for Werner. I believe it is an additional $1600 a month. I am not sure if it is for one year or two years. They also told me I can wait no more then 2 years after I graduate from school to start with them. Reason I am saying that, is because I was also looking at TMC trucking. They pay tuition back and they have the VA program as well. Only thing is I will have to start with them two months at a max after I graduate.

Right now I am working in Kuwait as a civilian contractor. It is good money but I have been here for four years. I want to do something in the US.

Let me know how it goes with you. You are being smart by looking at your options now before you retire.
