Ok before every one freaks out, i am not a Werner Driver, but i am here to tell everyone that if you are in the team situation, whether it be, A spousal arangement, or Brothers/Cousins/Friends, etc..... Werner is heard to be amazing. My cousin works for them and he actually is an the team position with his dad. Werner offers the most miles to teams, because they would much rather have there trucks moving non-stop.They also have a sign on, and an annual bonus. Yes i have been on here and have heard quite a bunch of garbage about swift, werner, etc....... but be that as it may, speaking from my cousins point of veiw, dont bag on Werner just because you did something wrong and got fired. A lot of the threads i have heard on here, are about how because of Werners electronic log system, they couldnt drive that extra 45 minutes to get to there favorite truckstop, again as a team why would you have to. Also the compensation issues, if you are a team with Werner, you could make 150k as an entry level driver, of course thats divided by the two of you, but that is also just for company drivers. Have you heard what you can make first year as an owner opperator........ All i am gonna say is if your a team do you research, and dont listen to these unhappy solo drivers. I work for May, and personally the money is in teams. There is an actuall good chance that i will move to Werner Just after speaking with there recruiters and hearing what they had to say for teams situations, as well as speaking with my cousin. Like i said If all you are doing is getting on here to complain about how a certain company treated you, doesnt mean that, that company will treat others the same. Usually the case is that The (DRIVER) broke policies, or wrecked there trucks, etc.... Constructive critisism is great, but ony if it is just that..... CONSTRUCTIVE!!!!!!

Figure the mileage pay, divide that into 150k, and see how many miles it would take to make that. Divide by 365 and see how many miles per day are needed, every day of the year. There are not enough days in the year to do that as an entry level paid driver. -
I am just relaying a message, that their is potential. Like i said i work for MTC but was considering, but after reading some more on werner i havent heard anything good on them which makes me want to withdraw my last post. then again i have friends and family working for them, they are banking and are not having any issues, so yep..... I'm torn! lol

Do you know what the team pay is at Werner? I have read on here before, but I am not sure what it is. That would help in the calculations.
-
2400 after 90 day sign on bonus per team
4000 anniversary bonus after 1 year per team
average monthly miles per team =20k-24k miles
average length of haul 1300-1500+
additional bonuses
no slip seating even while on vacation/hometime
if you run over 20k miles per month you can earn 4 cents more per mile
now hows that for research, all i am gonna say is now with this info do the math even at the base for a solo driver which is 33 cents a mile, and see what you get not including bonuses or the actaul pay for teams which is 42c. Before you post a mathmatical thread, make sure that you your self can actaully do math!
Take care stranger
I dont get punked! -
42C starting is team pay at werner!
like i said MTC is great but werner pays way better, i am actually reading on Swift as well. they have the miles i want, i will call them tommorow to see what they have to say. MTC is more suitable for solo drivers but the pay regardless of seniority is 36cpm then it goes up depending on how long your with the company. I Love May but i know there are more miles out there! -
i figured at 42cpm about 121k a year not including the huge amount of bonuses available, or the 4 cents extra a mile if you run over 20K miles a month bringing you to 46c. if you are an owner operator the amount is greatly increased.
-
The truck will have to run 357,000 plus miles per year to gross $150k. at 42 CPM.
-
Where you actually work for May, and I'm applying there, maybe you can give me some idea of how many miles a solo driver can expect lately?
How's your home time?
Are you a Regional or National driver?
Thanks!!! -
thats why if you do the math with the 24k miles offered a month to teams it will come out to 288k a year not including bonuses and such. now divide that by 2 and figure how much each person would have to drive in a year.
Now take A trip from California to New york, roughly 3k miles one way. thats nothing which is why i am trying to say that the miles are there for teams i could go on and on but just think about it. if the truck is only stopping for fuel and essentails then there is no 10 hour downtime. miles add up fast if you work hard you can make bank.
