I been here for 3 months and I believe this to be one of the best companies in the industry. The pay is really good[.42 to start] the benefits are ok and the trucks are nice and well maintained.I stay out 10 days and go home for 3 and they always get me home when I need to be.Their is no pressure here as long as you do your job and I have a very good working relationship with my dispatcher. No job is perfect, but I have less stress and aggervation here and my paychecks are good.I would recommend this company to anyone.

I was with Westside for about 8 months. Recently 1 night I unloaded at a large account of theirs, and was to pick up a load there the following morning. Sometime during the night I fell ill. I thought it might of been food poisining. Anyway by morning I was still bad enough that I couldnt drive, so I q commed my dispatcher I told him I was pretty sick and they better get someone else on the load. (still had several hours before it was ready) I also asked him to call my wife and tell her I was too sick and needed to let her know. He wouldnt do that. Said I can do that .Was bad cell area for me and no land line near. Soon I got another driver near me to call her. I live just over an hour from there and my wife came and took me to the local hospital.
The ER thought maybe I had or was having a heart attack and decided to transport me to better care facilities. Anyway the next hospital was closer to where I live and my own doctor was there.Tests ruled out heart problems and the did MRI and other tests for a possible stroke. Anyway tests came back negative, but the doctor said my sugar was sky hi and ended ordering my off work for a month. Very soon we let the company know what was going on and the HR people said to keep in contact with my progress.
In a couple days they had me clean out my truck since I was going to be off a while. When my time was up and I had the ok from my doctor I took it to the company. At that time I was informed that I had been terminated after 14 days of being off. They said also with my medical problem they wouldnt hire me back. I guess thats their right. And they know better than a medical expert about my health. Also I found they had cancelled my health insurance , so I,m on the hook for a lot of medical bills. Theres more details, but this gives the basics of payback for being a faithful and safe driver.. -
What a bunch of maggots.
Hope you are feeling better and best of luck to you!

Thanks Mr Duker..I guess in Iowa and many other states any employer can fire anyone and don't have to have a reason. All the time while I was off, the human resource and other officials kept telling us "any time you need help just call" well mostly they didn't return my calls and many of my updates on my recovery was into their voicemail..Oh by the way I have over 30 years in trucking, many as owner op. probably logged at least 3 million safe driving miles.I guess thats not worth much now a days.

i worked for them years ago and they screwed badly. so i drop the truck off in one of their drop yard and quit. oh!!! were they pissed. they had me sitting in PA waiting for a load that was suppose to load on a friday but now wouldnt load till monday i had my granddaughter with me and need to get her home and they new that because they had preplan me so i could pick her up and drop her at the house with her grandma. they load the have me waiting on was not the original load and it was going to take me the other direction away from home. so i did what i had too.
