western express. dont even consider it

four months on a job and you KNOW the company and all in entails to run it and if it's a good company or not? You're a hero! you should run for office!!!!!!

 

I would have to second that...just cause a company may not be a good fit for one driver, dont mean somebody else would not be happy. I also would think 4 months really would not be long enough to learn much at all....

 

wow awhole 4 moths on the job and he already bashing the co that he drives for' dam someone needs to get ahold of him and ask him for the lottory numbers since he seems to know everything going on. newbie.

 

They should change the name to eastern express, nothing but east coast garbage.

I think it would take but 4 weeks To say they suck.

 

everyone has different experiences with different companies. something you disagree on another driver may not have a problem with. you may want to be home every weekend, another driver may not mind staying out on the weekends.

 

Western was the last company i drove for before i came off of the road in January of 2009. I was driving flats so i dont know much about the van side but for me they werent that bad.I had a couple of run ins but that is to be expected at any company over time. For the most part they kept me pretty busy and just let me run and treated me like an adult as long as I held up my end of the deal. They are a cheaper company and have a couple of undesireable policies but overall I had a decent experience and as far as the flatbed side goes i would go back. Western Express is a company you will not makeit at if you go in expecting butt kisses and roses. They are pretty no non-sense and just expect you to get out there and do the job.For a cheap company my equipment was in above average condition and even though it could be difficult at times to get in the shop, it was taken pretty well care of and i never had trouble getting chains and straps and tarps when i needed them and my check came at nearly the same time on the exact same day every single week without fail and without pay roll error.They were far from perfect but they were not the worst company I drove for by any means. As i said before i would go back to their flatbed side. I did pretty good for the few months i was there and actually enjoyed my time with them. Sorry you had a bad time with them but they really do have their good points.Some companies and some drivers will just never mesh and workout.No knock on you or them sometimes it just doesnt work.

 

So by your theory everyone should dismiss anything that is said bad about any company on these boards and sign up with one of the fleet of Swift recruiters down at any welfare office?

4 months is plenty of time to know if you want to work at a company for 4 more months or not. If a newbie you might want to gut it out for 6mo's. but exper drivers don't need that long to figure out if they suck or not. Unless they are a tool.
