Nope ole western is still hanging in there.......I been here a solid year and they are still pretty decent if you ask me. I would recommend them to a serious driver but if you like to play around at the truck stop may not be the place for you. I generally stay preplanned at least a load ahead and on elogs avg anywhere between 2700 to 3000 miles a week.

Can anyone give me a update on what western is paying for new flatbed drivers? I don't need to hear how people are getting screwed or how they were treated. I just want to know there pay and what miles you guys are getting running flatbeds? I am in Oklahoma so I know they don't have a lot of dry vans out here in the central states but if any of you know her Amber from midwest told me that I would be put into here flatbed division because of my home state. I use to drive but got out of it because of my children but now they are grown I cen go back out. So if anyone can give me some insight on pay and mileage in there flatbed division I would greatly appreciate it.

I spoke with a recruiter yester day, I been out of at truck 27 months..They said .31cpm and an additional .14cpm perdiem. They claim 25-3000mi. but u cant hold breath on that. they seemed eager to hire flatbeders. I am also going to have to go out 1-2 weeks with trainer. Im just lookin to get back on the road. I have read a lot of negative about this company and alot of good. take it as you will

Western pays 0.28 to 0.32 a mile, all miles on HHGM, or zip to zip.
The pay is 0.14 to 0.18 cents a mile and 0.14 cents per mile per diem.
Miles per week will be inconsistent for sure.
From what I am told by the drivers I know at WE, average is running about 2200 a week. -
ALERT!!! ALERT!!! ALERT!!! There is a guy calling himself Jody Vance and he claims to be an officer of Western Express. He is NOT an employee of WE; he is nothing but a scammer. He has hacked into their applications database (one reason I wish we didn't have those d***ed online apps, but neither here nor there) and calls people telling them that he can save them a 26/30/48-hour bus ride on Greyhound to Nashville by routing a trainer to their hometown to be picked up to start driver training immediately. Then supposedly "sometime in the first two weeks" you will be routed through Nashville to do the paperwork thing. Here's the "catch". You will be pressured into paying whatever the supposed fuel costs are to get the trainer from HQ (Nashville) to your little corner of the world. He will tell you that it's so that the company can cover fuel costs in case you decide you don't want to go. The first price he tells you will double in a subsequent call-back where he tells you he talked to his boss and he'd told you wrong; the original amount was just ONE WAY - you have to cover BOTH directions. He'll tell you that you will meet your trainer in a couple of days - say at the local WalMart. He will also want you to sent him the money in MoneyGrams (which cannot be paid by a credit card and thus you can't dispute the transaction). If you've swallowed the bait thus far, the next day he will call back and tell you that he's in a terrible bind. A driver has abandoned a load and would you feel comfortable taking it by yourself from Podunk City to Crapperville and then eventually end the trip in Nashville? PLUS, you'll get $3000 for this too! Oh yes, and did I mention that the Fuel Surety that you sent him will supposedly be refunded to you when your trainer picks you up? No? Well, that's part of it. Also, that second scenerio I mentioned where you drive solo? That's another round of money since he won't credit what you were dumb enough to send him previously. When you tell him that you're tapped out and have no more to give, he will start acting like a little ##### and want you to hit up friends and relatives and cry around about how he'd already told his boss that you would do the job and how he's now in a real bind. By this time you tell him NO MORE, he suddenly says that the whole deal is off and that he'll refund what you've sent him. Do I need to tell you that all of the sudden after this he will not answer his phone nor return your calls when you want a reference # for picking up YOUR MoneyGram? I'm brand new and I didn't know any better and fell for this. Only after he got $800 from me did I find out from Western Express that Vance not only does not work there but he has been under investigation by the authorities in Tennessee for some time now. Once again, if JODY VANCE calls you - don't talk to him!!! Hang up!!! He is NOT in any way, shape, or form a part of that company!!!
