My Husband and I drove team for Western Express for 3 years. We were always treated with the utmost respect and consideration. Western Express is a performance based company. If you perform, you will be fine. After Wayne died, we became more regional than OTR. We felt that it would best serve us to leave after Wayne passed. Attitude is everything in this industry. Western was an awesome launching pad for me. My husband has 20 years experience but I was just starting out. We now work for Quest Global and this experience is totally AWESOME. We will forever be grateful to Western for the experience and the outstanding references they gave us upon departure. Good Luck and be safe.:biggrin_25525:

Hate to tell you different but my trainer and many many others I have talked to are making more than .32 a mile. Plus with fuel bonus programs and such it can come out to about .40 a mile when said and done. I've been at western for just going around a month and so far I have no complaints about them. I've been paid what I've worked and I'm getting decent mileage for a solo flatbed :biggrin_25520:
Not every company is for everyone. Find the one that's fits you the best. We are all out here to make a living no matter with what company it is.

Guess western did not like him. Talked to him for half hour. he is leaving ! Went over payroll printouts line for line. If .19 per mile more is small change to you... I just don"t like see others abused. But yes he was on the dry box side. Flatbedding is not for every one , nor is my or your company the right fit for everyone ! but when he saw my trainee was making as much as he was , he was not happy with WE . Base pay is where I start looking , per deim, safety , and any bonuses are added to base. His total was .19 below my base.Is my job that much harder ?As long as everyone is happy with the deal they have , fine. If not find a job that does ! Have a wonderful day ! Oh have talked to about 30 WE drivers in last 2 months. Not trying to upset anyone , just want everyone to get the best deal for them!

Our situation is different because we run team but we did work for Western for 3 years. Western is a performance based company. If you pickup and deliver on time and run the miles you will be fine. They always moved mountains for us whenever we needed to be somewhere. Unfortunately, the consistant complaint we heard from solo drivers for the 3 years concerned hometime. They constantly said they were promised to be home and then sent the opposite direction. We are not aware of the driving habits of the drivers we spoke to through the years but if you were going to hear a complaint - 9 times out of 10 it had to do with hometime. Hope this helps. Good luck and be safe.
