I started at WFX just recently . they got me to OKC via greyhound had a motel van to pick me up and put me in an hotel . The Clairion which is a decent hotel . the first day was just going down to get my DOT physical and drug screen . I then returned to the motel . The second day was about 4 hours of lectures and watching film . After the films it was time to take the road test . I requested that the truck that i tested in would not be the one that they were to assign me . The exterior was banged up and the interior needed work .
I knew that starting off i would not get the pick of the litter.... I was stunned at the conditions of what i had to choose from I have over 18 years experience and will not drive a P.O.S. nor should any driver out here !
They gave me another selection which needed to be cleaned but i seen great potential in it and was quite happy after i had cleaned up the inside ... which they said they would pay me for detailing.
Then after truck selection i was on the road to my first delivery which was already pre loaded for me at the yard .
They do have plenty of freight and are about 65 % drop and hook on the van side they also have refer, flat and heavy haul. Some thing for every one .
My first week i put in over 3000 miles and second week was the same .
My last run from PA. to OKC was quite disturbing though .
I got to Sullivan MO. at the flying hook (pilot and flying hook is their preferred fueling stations ) I noticed that i had a flat super single on my trailer . I called breakdown he said not to buy a new one but see if it can be repaired so i did as instructed i went across the street to a tire shop they told me it was beyond repair... which i knew already i also had one that was chunking out so it needed to be replaced . He asked if they had any used.... i never heard of used super singles but i asked any ways of course the answer was no... I called break down back and informed them of the situation then he told me i would have to sit there until they could get a driver heading that way to bring me two super singles from OKC .
Which is about a little over 7 hours away.
After 32 hours since the first phone call i was finally on the road .
On my way home for my 2 days off .
I have never been asked to wait on tires before . I have always been told buy them or we have a repair guy on the way with new ones.... never once until now been told to wait for tires to come from 400 plus miles away... Kinda odd !
I had a phone call from safety director today that was quite rude but that was just a miscommunication from what my DM has said to me once i contacted him about the matter.
If any one wants more in depth details on this company or is looking to come over PM me and i will get in depth with you on this company .

its all good ronin..... Facts are Facts and i have not defamed anyone nor do I intend to... BUT I WILL STATE THE FACTS ...this is not my first rodeo !
-
I understand... but when I posted something, I got a nasty call.
-
Well that sounds very childish of whom ever called you from there... This is a public forum to help drivers make choices of who to sign on the line with...
Hopefully that person is no longer with them or they have changed their tune when it comes to free speech ! -
Nope...he's running things, pretty much.
-
There is a way of doing things and then there is a way of doing things right via drivers and operations on a daily basis... professionalism on both parts must be on line with each other.... right is right and wrong is wrong they have not done me wrong as of yet and i do not for see them doing so... or that is my out look working for them i always keep an positive attitude until further notice...lol
as being an O/O previously i know how on the road expenses effects a companies bottom line but i also know that things must be fixed in a timely matter to keep good drivers on line with a company...
I have been doing this for many years and am very professional and have seen many companies small and large succeed by taking care of their equipment and drivers on the spot to keep rolling...
As we are now in the era of csa 2010... it does not matter if it is fully implimented yet or not remember that it is retroactive for 3 years on us drivers we must be vigilant in our efforts to protect our licenses via HOS rules and good equipment on a daily basis...
operations is there to make sure that we all can roll on time and efficiently to our next destination and that each of us make a profit doing so...
Sometimes we all take a loss.... and i understand that !
Like a marriage how much are u prepared to lose before u cut the loss and run ?
Both parties involved must be professional enough to meet each others demands on the CSA 2010 issues and if irrational decisions are made on either side it must be openly discussed and in a professional manner !
I have always said that when it comes down to have to curse at a person the one that curses has already lost the argument because he/she has lost the words to make that point.
When it comes to a disagreement one should always talk in a plain voice enough to be heard not to shout at one or another ... the reason that we get loud or shout is a simple tactic to rattle the opposing side which shows weakness of the person that is getting loud....
I love to make people cuss and get loud with me ... it shows that i have the upper hand and am winning the debate !
I stay in a even based voice and stick to my point and once u do that you always win any debate as long as you are correct in your assessment of the situation..
Am i educated yep....
I am also very professional...
I will keep sharing my experiences with Western Flyer Express and i will keep it professional so as drivers out there can make an educated choice as to make the move here and know exactly what to expect when signing on the line...
Which is only right ! -
Hey Jack been here for a year just a few complaints but nothing to make me quit. Usually can be worked out. It will take a little while for you to get to know them and them to know you and then it all goes pretty smooth. And yes one guy does mointer these boards but no complaints with that either cause he knows how I am. Welcome Aboard!!!
