I have these three companies lined up as potential employers. I will tell you what I know, maybe you can fill in the blanks thanks ahead for the read and sorry for poor grammar.

Knight transportation- average training is 30 days recruiter seems nice not very informative had to get back to me on there transmission 8-10 speeds 400$ a week training pay. I like them but 30 days with my swift prior experience and cdl school, years of B experience seems excessive but I will deal with it.

Roehl-8 days in class 600$ for this part of training. Teaching you log books, qual comm, backing training, map reading the things you learned at school but more in depth. Then on the road for 13 days (21 days altogether) I believe you get 800$ for that then test out go home for home time(obviously) generally taking a load on the way. Recruiter seem like she already checked out like she semi retired had to call her instead of email she knew her stuff mostly 10 speeds APUs, late model 2-3 years old. Like the company a lot but they want you to get a passport twic card Canada runs>_>

Western express- To counter a negative complaint on western someone said home time is a privilege is untrue people abusing home time get this treatment according to a very nice very informative recruiter best recruiter yet. They have the most varied choices as comes to trucks automatics 8 to 10 speeds. Training is 30 days long maybe longer if your not so good driver.

If you have anything to add please do. Experiences especially.

One Knight has a no idle unless your dieing of heat or cold they got some auto shift now no apu can't have a inverter unless it a small one plug in the lighter.
two Roehl they are a better company then knight or western they have you do a basic refresher to make sure you can handle everything n it good that they teach you more on the logs and as far as Canada they don't force you to go there and the twic card they pay you back for getting it incase you got to go to a port if you don't have one they hire a outsider to go in for you but out of the three I would take Roehl.

The length of time you have to spend out with a trainer is not set in stone. You are being told an average for people with your experience. "Company Policy". You will be given a road test once you decide which company you want to go to. You are not hired until after the road test. That test will determine how long you have to be with a trainer. You could be assigned a truck right away.

It is my opinion, never having worked for any of the companies that Roehl would be the way to go. That is only because of talking to the drivers.

No you don't have to tell them you didn't commit to them other wise you have a bus ticket going to there places they know that drivers look at the others for driving jobs good luck

Not trying to be snide but this forum is full of experiences, just might want to read some more of them! Everyday someone puts a thread about who pays the most or offers what I need. When in reality no one has a clue about your situation, location, wants or needs. Some people need a Western Express or a company that's strictly van, flatbed, tanker, local, apus, no idle policy. And the list goes on and on! So it's really up to you and your desires and maybe where you need to run will also be a factor.
