I love dealers line of BS when it comes to warranty work. Like no other truck has a hood with a similar angle above the headlight? Riight. A good stainless fab shop like deiters or 12 gauge could make one up from scratch for you. Vinyl shops had this vinyl chrome before that would look ok there too l think. Tell those clowns you don't care about some mega with a 100 trucks you just want yours fixed lol

Dealer gets reimbursed by oem,for repair work.
I would contact corp for a repaint.

I second this, I would start with customer service and document everything from who you talked to all the way to detailed pictures. The paint they use doesn't wear like car paint and if it is peeling, then it is an indication of a poor prep job or defective paint/primer.

I had a 1998 Century, the paint on the skits would peel right off like a sheet of paper if you grabbed ahold of it. I have seen some Cascadia's do it on the painted front bumper.
I think it is the poor quality primer that they use to paint over plastic.
There is warranty for paint, but not for stone chips.

Star's seem to be notorious for paint peeling. Both of our 4900's are peeling paint from the roof. The neighbors have a bunch of 4900's and all of theirs have been repainted. Funny thing is none of these problems showed up while in warranty

That would actually kind of makes sense but something I actually found out after dealing with this and digging up some info the 5700 aren't standard Western Stars. They're not made up in the Northwest plant like all the other western star trucks. Everything aesthetic and body wise is Western Star but this particular truck was manufactured in a Freightliner plant in SC not the Western Star plant in Oregon (either Oregon or Washington I can't remember) because it's basically a Cascadia with a different body. Which doesn't bother me too much I mean I like the Cascadia is a good solid truck if you take care of them I just hate the way they look and how cheap the interior is what western started with this interior was a hell of a step in the right direction

I really haven't had paint peeling from anywhere else other than just above the headlights with the exception of a couple chips on these fairing pieces just behind the driver and passenger door covering up the sleepers indenting for the stacks on the sleeper. I'm not going to bother with replacing those pieces I'm just going to pull them off and put stacks on it replace it with a chrome Western Star cover with a handle I hate the downturn exhaust when I go home I usually park the truck in the field next to my house but in the summer months when it's dry if I end up starting the truck for a while to charge the batteries or get it ready to head back out I'm risking it catching field on fire because I've already moved it and saw burn marks and smoldering

The 5700 comes out of the Cleveland N.C. plant. About 2/3 all others come out of Rock Hill S.C.

2007 4900 constellation. Doors and bunk doors. Paint been coming off for years. Repainted twice at no cost. Now no more warranty and they still peeling I really doubt same primer was used all three times

Just curious Yves, did they strip it down to the metal? Or is it the original paint coming off and taking the new paint off with it? Kind of what happened tonthe chev pick ups in the mid 80,s and the ford pick up in the early 90's.
