Is there a way to inspect the front part of the clutch I felt around everything is tight no broken pieces.

Well how have you been adjusting everything? If it’s not a solo then it’s an easy pedal type. Have you just been adjusting the linkages or did you actually adjust the clutch?

Sounds to me like he's probably not had any clutch brake for a while.

Then maybe a complaint of no free travel, and somebody adjusted the linkage.

Now that somebody has adjusted the pressure plate, there's too much free travel.

And not enough throw in the pedal to get the TO bearing to contact the brake

well unless there’s different types of solos? But this one definitely does not have the springs to adjust it I have to use a special tool. Take out the 5/16 bolt where it holds a wedge between the adjustment knobs on the clutch. But yes I did actually adjust the clutch

No he has lots of free travel the clutch brake still at the tangs and lots of pad left. It just happened he’s usually a pretty good driver to tell us right away but who knows ha! We changed out the brake 3 months ago

I know he has lots of free travel. Too much is not a good thing either, it lessens the amount of travel the fork gives the TO bearing.

That's why I said back off the free travel. Sounds like there was good free travel before you adjusted the pressure plate.

When you pull the TO bearing closer to the brake, you increase free travel at the same time

I gotcha. Sounds like you are going to have to put a clutch in it.

Free play in the pedal you mean? Fork to plate was 1/8

    Deere hunter Thanks this.
