What’s a respectable cpm for tanker these days?

This is the first time I've ever heard that. The company I'm talking about runs red daycabs. Maybe you're thinking of Frontier Transport in La Porte that pulls pneumatics and intermodal containers?

That’s it. I know the Frontier in LaPorte has a bad rep with drivers.

I saw the same posting, but on Trimac's own site. The pay definitely seems low for that particular job, and I'm guessing it's dedicated freight for one customer so Trimac must have negotiated a lower rate for the contract. The listing also says drivers are out 2-3 days per trip, and even a team would have trouble making the round trip from Houston to Canada and back in that time frame. Either they're relaying those trailers somewhere in the middle or the ad is out of whack.

I've been looking through their various job listings, and the pay is all over the place. In my area, they just posted a regional job for 65 cpm loaded and empty but the post also says it's mostly weekends off which sounds to me like more of a dedicated type run. Last year they posted an OTR job here for 75 cpm loaded/70 cpm empty, and that position/pay is still posted in other locations.

Yeah, I thought that myself. It’s 1800 miles to Canada. There’s no way that driver is taking it all the way from Texas. It must be a relay that drops at another Trimac terminal (possibly St Louis). They are also hiring for a local dedicated position hauling isoprene for Goodyear, but I ultimately settled on a port job (I’m currently in the processing stage) after Airgas and Linde turned me down. The position I ended up finding is $28/hour plus overtime (as in time and a half for overtime) and a 4 day work week, so I think that’s a decent gig for now. It’ll at least let me get my foot in the door in the Houston market at the very least.
