If you are paying a ton of rent on a place in LA , I would get out of that lease and pay down any and all debt you might have
Times are not going to be easy for a while is my guess

The thing with trucking is you really need to adapt. I did Laredo to New England every week and was killing it. Until I wasn’t. Some lanes vary and so does flatbed reefer and dry van. You can’t pigeon hole yourself to just 1 lane forever.

The only truckers that will be left standing are the REPO men.

In Cali..... AB5 and all? Do you have your own authority? If so, calling @Chinatown

Apply for your own numbers. Go through OOIDA if you have to. Do you have sufficient savings and a maintenance account? If you were “bawling” you should. You’ll need insurance money down payment.

In the interim, you can end your apartment lease and move your address to a more trucker friendly state away from the AB5 nonsense, as you stated you were able to live out of your truck for the time being. Once out of AB5 commiefornia, you should be able to lease on as an OO to a company provided you meet their requirements.

@Chinatown is always helpful in companies to lease on to. Research some of his posts.

To do rail work you needed more insurance than normal and a bond to do it as a company kind of hard to get all that lined up with one truck. But that was 7 years ago so, I don't know what has chay.
