Life long freind has a Big Shot, he fuels at Kroger's too. Lot cheaper!
It's like the little old lady that pee'd in the ocean.... every little bit helps.

$1200-$1500 is normal for 1m and 100k insurance, just don’t think to take all loads at any price they give you, calculate your expenses before take any load, let’s say $1.35 is your running cost including insurance, truck/trailer payment maintenance your salary etc. then look for loads anything less than your running cost say no,
Right now you looking at cheap loads which makes you think how you will survive after all these expenses..

Yep, normal. I looked at turning my authority back on, best rate I was quoted was $12,300 or something like that, and that was not including my tractor or trailer. I used to pay $6000 a year for EVERYTHING. I do better leased to my current carrier, they allow me the flexibility I like, have very good rates, don't send me anywhere and generally leave me alone. Much happier, and I don't have to worry about finding loads and all of the other BS.

Is it a fixed radius around your office address? Or does the radius change depending on your current location?

I believe you need 3 types of insurance bobtail,
Loaded and unloaded. So 1500 a month is not that bad when you look at it that way.

Plus you need you a 2290 certification which is 550.00

The start up cost are high, but if you don't gamble your companies money away. And do good pretrips. Your revenue will cover the bills.

Always watch the pennies. Let's say you have a 300 gallon fuel capitcy. Purchasing fuel at one spot over another will cost an extra 40.00 bucks. Times that by 50 fill ups. And a extra 2k is what you spent on fuel. Which is more than a monthly insurance payment.
