I did similar, not quite as good. 4500 Detroit to Miami, then 1500 to Indy. 5 days work. Lot of fuel. Still worked out good enough. Been back to Florida twice since. Last trip DH from Arcadia to Macon for a decent Load. Bounced to Tn, In, and Mi. on 3 trips in 3 days. Worked out OK, but think I’ve seen enough Florida to last a while. Vacation is one thing. Trucking another. Don’t care for it.
What’s the average load rate coming out of Florida I just got a load for like $1.70 is that normal

Every time I went to Florida I was looking for alligators lol - never did see one
JoeyJunk, Vampire and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
Certainly not bad! Especially being non reefer, haz, etc. and whether you did or not, getting back to MI could have been another $1200.
You know what, that’s what makes trucking fun. You have to be someone who enjoys strategically putting puzzles together where each piece may mean hundreds or thousands of dollars.clausland, fishonron and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
Which has caused the GA rates to fall.Pup97, ChevyCam, shooter19802003 and 3 others Thank this.

I’m looking at it now. First trip to Miami then back to Indy was only 2.28 all miles. Whole time out was 16 days. $16000 on 5815 All
Miles. Overall 2.70 pm avg. Got home, slept for 2 days. Lol. I had a couple 34 resets, basically a couple days off on weekends. Trying to average $1000 day after fuel. Always set the Goal a bit higher, never know! Lol.ChevyCam, shooter19802003, Speed_Drums and 2 others Thank this. -
Southern Ga is always the same. Nothing but Paper or Kitty Litter/oil dry. Unless it’s watermelon season, for a few weeks up till the 4th of July. Rates are good. Cat litter pays big bucks for a few weeks. Otherwise it’s cheap. Reefers are there loading it, driving down the rate. Lol. ( That’s the Load they don’t talk much about ). Have to get up around Macon to see a decent rate. Closer to Atlanta the better.Last edited: Sep 21, 2021
Speed_Drums and ProfessionalNoticer Thank this. -
The only good paying loads in Florida are heading south out of Miami.
59EX and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
I generally wont go south of Lakeland (because the Walmart there allows truck parking) and don't go to FL without expecting to deadhead back north for my next load.
Speed_Drums Thanks this. -
Usually, before I book a load in, I've already spotted a load out. Never go in blind if you can help it.59EX, ProfessionalNoticer, shooter19802003 and 2 others Thank this.

That's really good reloading within the parameters of Florida! I've heard drivers get offered loads for 87 cpm!!!
