I’ve searched this forum and read up on what people had to say about TransAm. I’ve been told I’m likely to start in two weeks once a dedicated route from Indiana to Kansas and back becomes available. Honestly from what the recruiter has told me, it doesn’t seem too bad. I’ve seen where some people only get paid .32 a mile, they’re offering in the .50 range. With a dedicated route that’s 500 miles, that almost seems perfect if they can keep me going everyday.
Are they still governed at 62?
Is it true they don’t have driver cams anymore?
Can they be telling me they’ll pay me one thing but mean another?
Anyone currently working here or know someone working here that can fill me in better?
What’s the latest with TransAm?

They’re a start if it’s what it takes. Sounds like the trucks are nice, but I probably will lose my mind only able to go 60 in 70s.austinmike Thanks this.

Don't listen tot he recruiters. You WILL have to go OTR for a minimum of 6 months before you can apply for a dedicated position, and even then, you have to wait for a dedicated position to open. I don't know how many people can survive today at 32 cpm and 2500 miles/week... and that's what all the OTR drivers are paid.
And yes, they do have cams in the trucks now, too. I couldn't tell you if they have driver facing or not, because I wouldn't look beyond the pay from 1992.ducnut and Texas_hwy_287 Thank this. -
That's my impression as well. Their reputation was one for pushing lease-ops on newbies and watching newbies run themself to death while the newbie discovered they were not making money with a Lease-op truck. They have a reputation for making newbies that decline to lease a truck sit around a lot or drive busted trucks with problems which makes then decide to try out this lease-op thing. I never worked for them.

@SmokeyBandit --
There were MUCH BETTER options than TransAm listed in one of your earlier threads ("Hire-ability of Marginal Driving Record").
You would be A LOT BETTER OFF if you get on with Swift--instead of TransAm.
