I’m trying to ship a car for the first time and learning about the crazy process and shady tactics along the way.
I’m working with one of the big 5 brokers, they are charging $1275 and I am assuming they put out the bid for $975 but I don’t know for sure since I can’t see the load board and it hasn’t been picked up for a couple of days. I am wondering if it’s because the bid is too low or the route is unpopular. When I put my info on the aggregator site, I got 100 spam calls and a range from $950-$1400. At the time I thought $1275 seemed reasonable but now I’m doubting. Is there a way to tell what the going rates are on the load board other than requesting quotes from brokers and getting a big range of numbers?
What’s the load board like for PA to NM?

I am seeing 4 loads total on DAT within 150 mile radius of Philadelphia, PA to 150 mile radius of Albuquerque. Only 1 of those goes to Albuquerque, and the rate isn't even listed on it. The highest one is under $2 a mile as well. And that is searching for today pickup. Searching for tomorrow shows nothing but i am also only searching all types of van and flatbed.

Origin is 10 miles away from Philly city limits in Horsham. Destination is within Albuquerque city limits. First available pickup is today. Not sure what load board they post on. Does DAT see the loads from central dispatch?Last edited: Jul 26, 2023

The broker reduced their commission each day while increasing the carrier cut. Broker is charging 100 now instead of 300 and carrier gets 1175, and it got accepted
