Maybe not the stupidest but recently saw a mega fleet flatbed (forgot who, maybe Swift or Roehl) with a tarped load of something or other, maybe a 40 foot load, and the front tarp was applied first and the rear tarp second. It was blowing up pretty good but seemed to be holding okay but the truck was heading into rain so not sure how that ended up.
What’s the stupidest thing you’ve ever done/seen done

Had a friend go take a physical. Before he went there, he stopped at IHOP and got a big stack of pancakes and heated syrup, eggs and bacon. They wanted to rush him to the hospital, but instead, they gave him a 30 day card.
Had another friend post on the company facebook page, a pic of himself drinking a beer inside his truck. They terminated his contract. He called me and told me and i asked if he told his wife.
Had a friend that took his truck to a trucking company shop for a DOT sticker. They found so much wrong with his truck that they convinced him to use his truck for a down payment for one of their trucks.
We had some drivers get drunk in a motel, get the drunk munchies, and bobtail through the drive through of a White Castle and tear down the awning.
Had the son of a friend while in orientation, decide to say lewd remarks to some of the office candy. And away he went.
“Tiny”,5’8 and 495 lbs bragged to the nurse practitioner during the orientation DOT physical, that he lost 8 lbs overnight. She told him that must have been one hell of a dump.
Had a guy, deacon in his church, check into the orientation motel Sunday morning and charge up $114 worth of soft porn by Sunday noon and refused to pay the bill. I guess the soft stuff takes longer.
Had a driver pull a steel coil from Burns Harbor to Gary without securement. He pulls into the yard and the safety man goes screaming out the office after him. Do YOU believe in miracles?Ruthless, stwik, Grubby and 1 other person Thank this. -

5 years ago or so, I was fueling up in Colby, KS. I was on the passenger side and the driver's side pump head fell out of the #### fuel tank because I didn't have the hose wedged under my side fairing like I generally did in the truck I had then. By the time I noticed and got back around the truck to fix it, there was a nice lake of diesel all over the ground...and my shoes. Try to get back in the truck afterward, feet slip off the stairs, tore my right shoulder all to hell trying to hold onto the bar inside the door. It was not one of my finer days...

Dumbest thing I've seen happened this morning when I was getting diesel.
A driver with a 53 foot trailer made a left into a small speedway off a busy street.
He didn't think it out, he could have seen what the situation was with no room to pull in but he still pulled in.
He blocked in half a dozen customers not to mention part of the pumps (I was the one he blocked at the diesel pump) because he had to angle the truck to get the trailer off the street.
There was no way to go around the building. There is about 55 feet from the end of the approach on the road side to where the employees park.
And traffic was heavy so he could not back out easily and those people will not stop for him but rather hit him to collect insurance.
Someone called the cops and they were not happy about dealing with the bs.
They gave him a ticket, I didn't hear why but he was crying about no one wanting to help him pull out, I didn't have a bit of sympathy after he stood complaining about the station not being truck freindly. The cops told him he can't pull out until there are two other patrol cars there and at the time they were dealing with accidents. I wasn't happy, they came an hour and a half after to stop traffic to let the guy back out. -
