I dont fully understand everything that goes on inside a motor so ill ask this best I can. The center of the crank...the smooth metal part, I assume bearings go around those and it looks like the bearings have been rubbing against that..... Any reason why? The way I understood it was as following..... there was a small piece of a cylinder ring that had broke off and was stuffed inside a nozzle that allows oil into the crank. So no alot of oil was getting through or something...... didnt help that my oil was kinda sludgy.

A pic would help. No way for a broken ring piece to get into a pressure galley. I don't see anything obvious in the pics you posted above

They also have little rubber plugs for the weep holes. Yours was missing. I think they keep dirt out. They just pop on and fit loosely, to allow any coolant leak to show up.

On the side? Maybe thrust washer rubbing. I think @Big Road Skateboard mentioned once that bumping a dock too hard, can cause that. My friend did just that. Luckily he also decided to change the oil pan gasket. Found the thrust washer Laying on the bottom of the pan. It was damaged pretty bad. Crank scratched up too. We used some emery cloth on the crank. Put a new thrust washer in. DD said proper repair was line boring and a new crank. Hopefully it stays together till he gets a new reman engine.

Yeah, im gonna look for some tomorrow. When I went to drop off a few sensors, he had another engine that he was painting and rebuilding and those little rubber plugs were inserted in.

Yeah I remember a thread about the hard bump docking, I haven't bumped a dock in over 10 years :D..... was that the cause of your buddies bad crank..bumping a dock too hard??
