A 12.7 or 14L?
Edit to add-----what year 389?D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
I dont really know anything about detroits . but i read alot about those 12.7 having good longevity. It a 2013 389. Not a glider kit. Came with isx from factory.. Just kinda curious a ballpark estimate for an engine swap that still has elog capabilities, but the least amount of emissions possible.

Well, in relation to my question above about costs..... Im certain that if you find a 12.7 somewhere and want it rebuilt, he will charge 7k for labor including paint job whatever colors you want, they will also paint your frame. Whether it can be done or not, I dont know the schematics.....the counterbores/cutting will be about $1500 from Detroit factory dealer(Clarke PowerServices) Ive seen 389's for sale with 12.7s in them(Im always looking) so im sure it could be done...Smellfunny and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
@D.Tibbitt He said yes he can!

Does he have a shop? Any way I can get his info, I may be looking into doing an inframe soon. Thanks !

Surprisingly Fitzgerald Truck parts has been very helpful getting part numbers when Peterbilt or others have zero idea what part my rig has on it. 888-873-0448Last edited: Jul 18, 2024
