Eagle Pass Texas. A little valley with two truckstops on the east side, a sonic halfway up the hill and a bend to right towards the west leads you to the bank and steel tin coil transload to the left and trailer washes to the right in the warehouse area back there.

Nice little town, we have had good fortune down there. Quiet too. I suppose if we moved all the way there the world would end and it will be a month before the news reached us down that two lane road LOL.

I guess that driver did not see all of those runaway truck ramps coming down Black Mountain either.

I am going to take a guess at this but do you drive a Peterbilt or a KW with a Cummins in it? Within the last two years PACCAR (parent company of Peterbilt and KW) starting having this as an item that cannot be turned off. I had a long discussion with my boss and several other people about it but I lost that argument as I "don't know anything".

geeze you make it sound like trucks did not have to go down hills before jake brakes were common.

I am remembering drop off of Ashland or the Grapevine with a set of joints and smelly smoke coming out of the axles every night, 5 nights a week.

Corn flakes were notorious for smokin em on the way down.

    Sailboats smelled the hill up.

????? Wasnt my intention, the hills were there first. Even without jakes, you can go down a grade without smoking.
