Just wondering why there is no information posted about TransAm? I have searched the forum, but can't find anything. I suppose that could be a good sign of 'no news good news'.

I do see TransamPete post here often, but nothing specific about the co.

From their website, I can tell they push their leasing program, but also do offer company driver jobs.
They seem to have nice trucks, automatics too (good for my bad knee)
    They do hire new graduates.
The pay sounds low, lower than most.

I'm hoping some TransAm drivers pop in here to share their likes/dislikes about this company.

    Questions are:

How does the co. treat you?
    How's home time?
What is the avg first year pay?
Overall good or bad co. to start with?

    Thanks in advance,
    Louise

Or you could go to the search box, in the upper left hand corner, and type in transam.

    Thanks for the tip(s).

Yes, it kept me busy for too long.

It turns out TA does not hire from my area. I'm on their hiring map, but my zip code is not. If I lived 15 miles south, east, or west, not a problem.

The recruiter sort of suggested I lie on the application, without coming straight out and saying it. I.E: Use my daughter's address as residence on the application, but not actually live there.

Huum, tempting, but no way am I going to lie on the application.

It is all about home time. If they can put you the for home then it should work.

Hi transam pete, I've been reading through the forums and since you're a lease operator with TransaAm, I was wondering if you could help answer a couple questions? My husband's a new lease driver for TA and I'm confused about some things on his settlements (my industry is healthcare so I'm not savvy with trucking yet) What is TRAC and DEF? Thanks in advance and have a great weekend :)

*Sorry for the hijacking, I can't send a PM since I don't have 7 posts yet.

Those amounts right there are tractor fuel purchases. My boyfriend is a current lease operator and I'm the one who gets to go through his settlements each week and make sure everything is as it should be, lol. That first one would be a tractor fuel purchase from Bloomington, Illinois. The other one is a tractor fuel purchase somewhere in Ohio. As for why they charge what they do for satellite... I have no clue. It's TransAm. They're gonna make their money one way or another. If you log in to Driver Central, on the left where you click to go to Pay & Settlements, click on Handbooks instead and then click Contractor-Pay-FAQ and it breaks down an entire settlement and explains what each charge is.
