I was fresh out of CDL school and hired on with Trans Am (BIG mistake). They shoved the leasing program at my class and the majority fell for it. Been working 10 weeks and have had 2 positive checks and all the rest negative settlements. They leave me sitting waiting on a new load. They constantly swap loads. I can't get miles or cooperation from anyone. Night and weekend dispatch totally ignores you when you are trying to get a load. They simply don't care!!! I can't pay bills like this and they charge me over $1200 EACH WEEK in truck notes and taxes and fees for the privilege of being their slave. They have a walk away contract if you give 2 weeks notice and turn your truck in. I have had 3 straight negative settlements and not getting the miles so 2 more weeks of NO money will bury me. Has anyone just quit without doing the 2 weeks notice? Please if you have, tell me how they responded and what did they hit you with? If it is less than the $1200 each week I will go in the hole for the next 2 weeks...might be worth it to just walk.

Your contract should spell out what the penalties are for not giving 2 weeks notice.
Trans Am has it down to a science at this point. They are a predatory company. You can see that they are built to lure in dreamers and newbies with the nice looking and easy to drive trucks. They probably make more off of the lease assembly line they have rolling through there week after week than they do off of freight. I dislike their business model, but I respect it. -
Yeah...the truck note is $600 a week and then maintenance acct, breakdown acct, insurance, generator, satellite, and on and on. The contract just states they have a "Walk Away " contract as long as you give 2 weeks notice and turn the truck in. I have read where a couple people noted on other sites they were charged $1250 for breaking the contract. I am trying to see if anyone encountered that. It does not state a monetary fee charged for breaking the contract in the actual contract. I have submitted by certified mail my official 2 week notice (they should get it Monday) but just don't know if I can stay. I have had 3 straight negative settlements and have been sitting for 24 hours "waiting" to get a load...after I had to go to the terminal to get my truck fixed. Even new, they always break down! I will end up negative the next 2 weeks at this rate and I have bills to pay
