i agree with this completely, and i would be paid by the hour to drive said junk. if said junk breaks down i continue to get paid . the situation i have now, my pay is fixed (piece work basically). if said junk breaks down and adds 2 hours to my day, that's what pisses me off...... i will get no more money for time spent because junk broke down. when i drove dump truck i was by the hour. the fan clutch broke once and it took time to get it fixed, i continued to get paid..... and i never complained. i DO NOT want to sit on the side of the road with broken down junk for free.
the T880 i have as assigned truck is a nice truck but it will a couple of months to get it back.
What about ups tractor trailer?

im filling the application out. i recently had an accident where a car ran a stop sign and hit my truck. i never received a ticket over the incident, so in regards to "chargeable accidents" i am going to put 0 accidents? i presume chargeable means i would have received a ticket?

We get all brand new tractors. After a few years they hand the tractors down to the P&D side and replace them with brand spanking new ones.
Sometimes they send our old ones to smaller hubs and centers.
The pay and benefits are good enough for any tractor they give you. If you break down, your paycheck gets bigger!
It is definitely worth it.LtlAnonymous and FlaSwampRat Thank this. -

That is a good UNION job. So you will have to put up with the unioun good (pay health insurance pension) and the union bad ( must do this, cant do that, pay dues, maybe have to hold a sign every 5 years)

I’ve been saying teamsters got the good insurance lol.
Probably one of the worst unions there is but hey I’ll take the insurance and pay.
If ups isn’t for you try construction, I’m a teamster and make 33 an hour with free bennies to drive a quad axle dump truck most days but sometimes I’ll hop in the low boy or step deck.
Construction also tends to have nicer trucks, I got a loaded 379 with a 450 cat so she moves seeing as I only gross 63k.LtlAnonymous and FlaSwampRat Thank this. -
