Niether did some of mine. However there is a tradition from generations of providing a room for those like me who were unable to economically afford a place in that part of maryland. Houses rented between 2 to 3K a month apartments were 1600 a month and utiltiies were upwards of 500 and so on. A rich person's paradise. Everyone else economically disadvantaged.

There is no point renting when you are away for 300+ days of the year. Cheaper to get a 30 dollar hotel room for a week back in those days with full service in the area.

I maintain my own place standing on my own two feet now, however in those early days of trucking when you were working and had a sleeper berth, that was your home.

I remember a old truckstop NE of Fort Wayne off the toll road that featured a post office inside of it in my time. Triple T was another in AZ.

You're right about the renting part, I am just looking for a Mailbox rental and an address that I could put on my License and use when it comes to renewal. And not talking much with my parents for many years won't sound right if I ask them for their address to use (they are still very upset and angry I want to enter the trucking industry). I have no siblings and I don't even know what my cousins are. I had contacted a friend who I have known for a long time who lives currently lives in Kent, DE who hopefully will let me know if I could use his address for License and Mail and I could pay him rent for his "service."
    Thanks

South Dakota is the easiest, I did it. Send a message if you have questions. Took 1 day in South Dakota. Cheap insurance, no state income tax, can register your car, etc.

    Thanks for the reply,
I was looking into Florida as they don't have income tax and they have cheap insurance, however I had contacted a friend of mine in DElaware who is going to inform me if I could use his address for my License and renewals. Pros: cheaper insurance Cons: has income tax
