I believe protein can be hard on the kidneys if you get too much of it. Need to check into it before just chugging it every day.

I did ask about that. Doctor said protein shakes are ok unless you already have kidney problems.
Said 2 or 3 day is ok if kidneys are healthy. Protein shakes are good for Type 2 diabetes also. Of course, don't add sugar/

To be fair, I might have said the same thing since technology has improved so much. These days, you need a degree in computer science to diagnose these rigs. A fuel pump is 2-3 days at the dealer instead of 2-3 hours on the side of the road with Zeke's diesel service wrenching on it. Didn't know what the future held back then.

take the job at IBM, my dad could have gotten me? boring! (1974)

bummed around country, hitching rides, doing odd or construction jobs as a long-haired hippie type! yup

    shoulda, coulda woulda?
    nah.

wouldn't be who I am today and I like the crazy, nonconformist, irreverent, person I became.

#1. Don’t use a toothpick you got from a bull hauler.
#2. If you want to get uninterrupted sleep, set the refer unit to continuous.
#3. Should have switched to tankers instead of 12 years of dealing with grocery warehouses and produce brokers.
On a side note, it really was a great time running coast to coast back then. :)

If you’re not sure, ask dispatch, shipper, etc. No one’s ever been fired for dumb questions, but plenty have been fired for guessing wrong on things.

There is no perfect OTR company. Don’t waste time job hopping over petty things if a company is good 90% of the time. Some things are just nature of trucking.
