If I stay in LTL I would just stay here until they close the doors. ( Thats what I think is gonna happen. Cant see how you can lose 30 mil in 6 months and still stay in business. ) I know all about seniority and casual jobs and the other LTL companies. I have applied to some of them but have not heard any thing back. I think it might be because of my age. I would only be there for 5 or 6 years.

I kinda want to get a jump in a lot of the other drivers that will be in the same problem if they do close.

Well ya see I just cant. But are you sure that anywhere Greyhound gets hired he is going to be a casual? Are you sure that he is actually looking for LTL? Maybe I missed that part. Is there a possibility there are other driving jobs out there that pay that wage or better (I bet there is) that are not LTL? I am not "so sure" that you are wrong but I think there is a pretty good probability that you are not right only because there are jobs out there that neither one of us and some others have not heard about. But just because we have not heard of them or know of them does not mean they don't exist.

If Greyhound fills out applications at all the mainstream LTL carriers, yes, he will start out as a casual. He stated he was in LTL for 18 years, 10 years with the same company. That tells me he plans on staying in LTL. I never said there weren't other jobs that didn't pay higher wages to start with. I said "Not in LTL".

True, but EVERY Vitran driver I have ever seen drives like an idiot. Drive through the I-65/I-70 split and count the Vitran trucks that blow the paint off your truck when you drive near the speed limit.

To be honest with you, your best bet if you want to stay in LTL is to check out FedEx or UPS. You won't make 1k a week, but closer to the 600-750/week range.

FedEx or UPS, All ready did that. Keep in mind I will only be working for about 6 years. I will never get any seniority in a LTL company.

After Vitran bought out Pijax things went to the crapper. Just remember that not all the drivers here are idiot ##### holes. We have a lot of older guys like me that might know what were doing.

I haven't seen a single one, yet. I'm not saying you drive like this, but it doesn't look good when you claim you drive for one of the most dangerous carriers out there.
