Not sure if that's what it's called but the series of physical stuff you have to do at orientation like lift up a crate etc
Can someone give me a breakdown on all that is invloved in this?
My recruiter couldn't tell me since it's done through a third party
Thanks
What all is involved in the Physical standards test

Well it depends. If you are doing tanker your test will be balance on a balance beam , lifting 25 lbs and 50 lbs weights in a metal basket over head, doing step ups on a box for a minute, pulling on a rope for upper strenght , simulate walking and squatting down on a catwalk undoing a cap. Dry van less the balance beam and catwalk. Flat bed all plus ladder climbing, carrying heavy tarps chaining tires
-
Do you know what the required force is for the rope pull? And is 25-50 the total weight or is there any more significant weight from the box?
-
The rope pull is 110 ft. lbs both pulling and pushing and for the weight test they have metal baskets one with 25 lbs and another with 50 lbs you have to lift it over your head I think 3to5 times starting at table height
-
When you push the 110 lbs do you do it straight in front of your chest like a bench press? The company I'm going to be switching from had me do the same thing from a foot above my head and I couldn't get but like 90 from that
-
Yup, like doing a bench press I used all my strength and body weight. Doing this over your head? That's odd.
-
Yeah I know nobody could figure out the point of that.
Anyway that all sounds doable thanks for your help -
The real hard part is 'pushing' a rope. It's kind of like trying to push a chain.....chopper103in Thanks this.
