I'm somewhat new to trucking, been in a small "flatbed" for roughly 14 years but only required a DOT# and UCR registration.
Now I just got my own flatbed crane truck (15,099 unladen weight, 56,000 gvwr)
so basically I just want to make sure I have everything right:
Have a DOT#, MC#, UCR registration
and although I'm in New Jersey, because of NY work I'm required to file for HUT, correct?
Dont plan on doing much Otr if any at all, is there Nything else I need to file for before I get caught by a spot dot inspection?
What are all the required stickers I'll need?

Try asking these questions in the Owner Operator section. I doubt you'll get too many responses in here

You will also need an IFTA sticker, type in IFTA in google, this covers the fuel taxes for each state except oregon, but you talked like you would not be going that far.
-
Yes, you will need the New York Hut also, IFTA covers everything regarding fuel tax for the lower 48, in addition to IFTA you will need additional tax forms filled out for Oregon, New Mexico, Kentucky, and New York for the HUT.
