In 2002 I failed a drug test (marijuana) while I was working for a company. Since that eye opener I haven't touched any drugs. I learned my lesson. I'm thinking about applying to swift driving academy and was wondering if that mistake would affect my chances of getting in. Are they understanding of young and dumb? Thanks

I can't say about Swift in particular, but you aren't going to want to work for Swift forever, even if they do take you. And many companies will not even consider you if you have failed or refused to take a drug test. Give it a shot. Worst they can say is what you already expect they may say. Good luck, and if you truly have learned your lesson, I wish you the best.

Thanks for replying. I haven't filled out the application yet and I'm all about being honest. I do not have a DAC report on me. I didn't even have a CDL at the time of the test. Will that failed test even come up on a background check?

One thing I've learned is that honesty is the best policy. So if it was prior to your dac I honestly wouldn't tell them cause it ain't their business. Too many companies are asking too many questions that truly aren't their business. Don't volunteer that info if it isn't on your record. Pull your dac and find out.
