This is only my second post and have a quick question? I got a DUI with damages in 2000. The police report stated less then $200.00 to the other car which was even less if you considered the yellow paint on the guys bumper came from my black bumper, but the cop had to put something down he said. I plead guilty to first offense and I told them about another from 1987 and they didn't consider it a second offense, paid my dues. I'm starting CDL school paying cash on October 22nd and hopefully will be joining you out thereWhat do you think my chances are with a DUI with damages 7 years old and the other 20 years ago, no other tickets or accidents. I plan on being honest and telling every thing if asked. I did have a drinking problem and haven't drank in 4 years and have gotten along just fine with out it. Any thoughts from any recovering Alkies or anyone???
What are my chances??

DUI will be tough to overcome with the larger companies. Insurance companies will play a major factor in whether you get hired or not.
All is not lost though. You can find a job. You'll just be looking for awhile.
I'd lay odds, that Swift or Werner will hire you without so much as a hic up. -
I had a DUI 25 or thirty years ago and it didn't show up on a background check. I did put it down on my application though.

Thank you folks for the info. I'm kind of worried about the DUI's and how they obviously appear, especially on paper and by no means blame any company. Its something I gotta live with, but I'm going for it one way or the other, even if it takes me a few years to get there, we'll see what happens. Thanks again
