I've always heard that one year out of the seat is the big divider. More than that and they treat you as if you've never driven. With only 8 months out you may have more options than you think you do. Most likely it's the insurance companies who create that distinction.

Wel companies gave me shot and I was off the road for two years.
They’re not bad. Best thing I liked about them you choose your own routing and you can fuel at any of the major truck stops when and where you want. Just too many multi stop loads for my taste.
