Hello I recently lost my job at celadon after completing the student driver / training porgram. I ran a little over 10,000 miles in 6 weeks. I did not pass their training program I made a few mistakes on that last week that my trainer noted that was unsafe I know what I did wrong, and learned from it. No accidents or tickets happened. It was minor stuff, but it still made them boot me out of the program. Basically I just need to touch up on a few skills, and I am wondering if there are companies out there who will take me and send me through a refresher course and send me out in a truck without going through weeks of retraining.

Plenty will take you. Check the list of companies that hire students or just wait for Chinatown in 3 2 1..

So what did you do that got you kicked?

Not watching my mirrors enough, making turns a little too sharply, this only happened once but they accounted it into the decision which was slowing down too late and going into a exit too fast. Almost hit some cars they cut into my lane my trainer thought I wasn't paying attention so he wrote that down too he was playing games on his phone when I hit the brakes...

Yeah, you're alright but I'd expect a few weeks with a trainer no matter where you land. You're still very much a student. What's your 20?

Try Averitt out of Tenn. if that was it. Go through backing school and out with a true trainer. If what you say is truthful a good trainer should have you good to go.

What Longarm said. 10,000 miles is absolutely nothing, period. Do not fool yourself into thinking all you need is a refresher and you're good to go. You still have soooooooo much to learn that it's not even on your horizon yet. Hell, I've been on the road "professionally" for around 20 years, and I still pick up new things at least weekly. Not to bust you down, but you're still a newborn.....

That being said, find a new company, and start all over. Make sure you don't fall into the "I've already done this class/training thing, so I know what I'm doing" mindset. You are getting a second chance at a first start; make the most of it and absorb everything you can.

Good luck and be safe out there.

China must be off somewhere posting about Asian massage parlors...

You're in a great spot and won't have trouble getting a new gig.
