Yeah, the experienced hands that stay at a company for a long time may not get more CPM, but, they do get to drive a truck that says "Presidents Fleet" on the hood. Or, "Member of the Million Mile club" on the side box.
What are newbies worth in CPM?

You forgot to mention home every 5 day's, pre-planned for the whole week, motel allowance once per round, first name basis, no touch freight.....do I need to go on? -
Rates were a 1.00 per mile.
Fuel was 1.00 per gallon.
It was easier then.Milk_n_Cookies Thanks this. -

I would not turn the key unless the job topped out at over .50 per mile and I was fairly compensated for all other directions the company gave me whether that was drop/hook, fueling their truck, or a layover.. At .541 right now and 23 for all work and will be at .56 and 23.55 in January so it isn't all that far fetched.. We will have multiple line-haul drivers at my terminal this year over 100K and even more next year so it is possible.. I fully understand that many drivers don't wanna spend 4 hours per night on the dock, myself included, but even more drivers don't wanna put in the time a good paying company because it's all about now.. I went through some lean years here and I'm sure I could have jumped ship for more at that time, but 7 years later I'm glad I didn't and so is my bank account.. $82,500 for 2009, minimum $87,000 for 2010 - at $73,544 right now, and should break 90K in 2011 on the same medium mileage run that I'm on now.. It's definitely not that far fetched if you're actually paid fairly and paid for everything you do...
