You got a line on some trailers because they are just not around. Last time I looked they were 6 to 8 months out on new ones with no used ones around. I fill in when I have trucks and they pay pretty good for me to come out I get 160 an hour but I've got my own contacts.

Depends on where your gonna haul. 160/hr is high, very high, have not heard that before. Good for you if that's the truth.

As stated, yeah there are no trailers out there, well, there out there but it won't be easy to get ahold of one or two.

Rates I've been seeing are $120/hr.

Let me expand a bit. I've been bit before when hauling frac sand so anymore either they're going to pay my rate or not get the loads hauled I've got so much other #### going on I rightly don't need the work. The trailers are paid for so it doesn't matter if they haul sand or sit against the fence. I usually haul about 10 loads a month at that rate but as I said I've got a bit of a different thing going on with my business. Around WY and ND the rates are between 125 and 140 an hour.

Haulhand makes a very good point here. When more and more of us have the confidence to say that they either pay our rate or we'll do something else, then the cheap freight will go away.

I agree BUT I'm seeing several of the mega carriers jumping on this bandwagon. I'm already seeing drivers pay go down because of this.

Trailers are not the only problem, blowers have gone up in cost almost 200% if not more. Plus, they're hard to find as well. Last cost I was offered for a NEW blower was $11,300 for a Denver Gardner. Used, if you can EVEN locate used blowers, get ready to pay $7,500 and up.
