I want to be an owner op/leased driver one of these days. What is an average for weekly expenses and what can I expect (pay) to take home after taxes ?

Ok so what I mean to say is do owner ops take home at least $2200.00 weekly (after taxes) if they have already paid off the truck doing some sort of dry van or reefer.

That number is insane!!!!!! Like critters and other said , too many variables. I had an outfit here told me that I can make 12,000 per month. Note gross. Nothing was discussed about fuel, insurance, taxes, maintenance, etc. After research, I could net just below 6K per month = 1,500 per week. Good luck to find to net 2200 per week.

The short answer is not likely. There are some who may, but not most. The typical owner operator will probably earn somewhere around $30,000-50,000 after taxes and all expenses. As others have stated, there are many variables to running a truck, whether you are making payments or not, to give a definitive answer to your net. To start with, everyone will have different expenses, different deductions and different tax rates. What you haul is also a factor. Pulling a van will usually result in the lowest rates, but not always. There are some good van rates. Where you run will also impact your revenue. Different people have different work ethics, too. The time of year can have a major impact on earnings. This is usually the worst time of year for freight and rates. If you average $3/mile, you stand a much greater chance of netting $2,200/week than if you run for $1.50/mile. You see, there is "net" and then there is "NET." Not everyone is a good businessman or manager.
