I’m not sure if it varies by state or not. I got one in Missouri a few years back. If I remember right it was 2 points. Drops off after 3 years.
C.S.T Thanks this. -
I receive one a few years back. I pleaded not guilty even though I was guilty. I went to court and before I went inside, I waited for the traffic officer and we talked. I asked can he reduce the moving violation to a “non moving violation” which he agreed on. When my named was called in court, to my surprised, the judge said “DISMISSED”. Just shows to tell you what a little effort will do.
Btw, if you had enter the intersection and was inside the intersection while the light turned red, your not in violation. It’s when the light had turned red and you was NOT inside the intersection, your in violation. There should be a website on the noticed, you can logged on and watch the video yourself and see if you actually was in the wrong. -
In most towns its just a $$ grab no points.
snowlauncher and C.S.T Thank this. -
Your title and red light camera does not compute.
The violations moving for trucking is the same generally as that for cars and buses on a public road generally. Im pretty sure there are some exotic tickets possible for truckers who commit truly outrageous violations while moving but I cannot begin to think of any at the moment. Usually some sort of equipment failure that should have been fixed prior to going down the road.
I don't know anything about red light camera except this. In Arkansas by State Law, they are not allowed to use for enforcement. However some are there for monitoring traffic locally in many areas.C.S.T Thanks this. -
Just reread the Op’s post again, $158.00 is cheap, the fine in the jurisdiction I was in, “IF” I would of been charged would be $480.00 and 2 points automatically but mine was dismissed.

I’m a company driver and they will take the money out of my check every week till the ticket is paid for. I guess I’m straight if they bill the company

Before Ohio banned them it was a money grab and no points.
It was nasty in Cleveland...they made a lot of money.C.S.T Thanks this. -
I just look it up. I reviewed the message my dispatch sent me and I was in Palatka Fl when it happen. Florida law says red light ticket are $158 and if it not paid and it will double to $262 and then points will be added. I hope a local job will still hired me once I’m done with my contract
