Looking to hear from some experienced drivers what companies in or near kentucky are the best to work for. I'll hopefully be getting a grant soon to go to bluegrass CDL academy in winchester, but if it doesn't work out, I'd like to know what companies will help pay for schooling and will be worth my time.
What benefits do these companies typically have? What is the length of a typical shift and can you drive further if you want? Looking to find out about hazard driving also, what's the pay difference compared to normal hauls? One last thing also, from you older heads' experience, do you like long hauls or short hauls more and what's your experiences with team driving? How do you keep hygiene up when on long hauls?

Thanks for quick reply, so at most truck stops they'll have showers? Or a specific store chain?
Care to go a little in depth on elog, dvir, and any other paperwork or things I should look into? Total newbie here but I'm definitely gonna make a career for myself in trucking!

I'm looking for a company that'll help me get on the road and that has a nice fleet. I wanna drive newer trucks and make the big bucks but I don't know where to look. Any recommendations?

You'll learn all that in cdl school. It's not complicated at all.
You'll have a private shower room and can lock the door.

Looking for nation wide companies also that have locations in kentucky. Just want to find a legit company that keeps the same trucks, trailers, and I'd be getting into a routine with. Any suggestions?

Why does the company have to have a terminal in Kentucky?
That won't affect your home time. You'll still get home time based on company policy.

We prefer 6 months of verifiable experience in the last 3 years. However, if you have less we offer CDL-A training.
