A true N-leptic just goes to sleep. Of course, this is dangerous if said N-leptic is operating dangerous machinery. In my case, I actually space out. I can be sitting at my breakfast table eating my mom's biscuits and gravy and suddenly come to. My mom has been gone now for 10 years. I have also been flying with friends doing what is called follow the leader. These events are not dreams either.

Question???? Most of you drivers are out a lot. Do you know how to handle an Epileptic like me when having a full-on Tonic-Clonic seizure? I had one a while back and some ignorant with good intentions stuck something in my mouth, chipped one of my front teeth.

The last time I was in to see my neurologist I was waiting to see him and there was a young girl in the waiting room that her mom told me was also an epileptic. She had two petit mal seizure's in the space of about 20 minutes. I feel for anyone with this (redacted) problem. However, when I see children have these seizures it breaks my heart.

There are lots of ignorant people that think these kids are putting on. The EEGs their physicians have on file say otherwise. In the video below her seizure starts at around the 25-second mark.

My wife was originally misdiagnosed as simple partial seizures, it took alot of time and tests, and a good neurologist before we finally got the correct diagnosis. She's able to drive as long as she takes her medicine, but let her miss a dose and she's able to drop in the middle of a conversation, or working. Of course that medicine is a tightly controlled amphetamine.

Yeah i love when i hear all these mega's are rate cutters. They're not. It's those smaller operations fly by night doing that crap. This one move I know swift is doing for 1400 on 330 miles and some guys will gladly take it for 800-900 because it "only weighs 5k"

Yes actully i do. My mother has some synaptic damage from a side effect of a drug she took for cancer. It causes grand mals on a fairly regular basis. Basic procedure is to put something soft under the head, move anything sharp or hard away and roll her to the side and wait. Also a bucket as she pukes about half the time afterwards. Afterwards when shes all back usually get something warm to drink or icy if she bit her tounge to reduce swelling and to help hold until the twitching stops fully.

Sucks but could be way worse. At least it only happens a few times a month now.

I was taught to wait until the seizure is over to roll the patient over this way anything in the throat can be allowed to drain. However, you should put a clock on the waiting. Status Epilepticus is a serious medical emergency that MANDATES emergency care STAT! If the patient has not recovered by the 5-minute mark call 911 for help.

Last year at the VA I went into Status Epilepticus and almost died. In fact, I am at such a risk of Status Epilepticus that I have oral Versed on me at all times.

Well yea. Though we were told 15 minutes by her doctor which is what we stick to. Figure he knows way better then us on that, as to the reason for rolling her to the side right off is she pukes. Doctor told us its best to not take chances as she has puked a few times on her back during the seizure which can have obviusly bad results. Its rare but better then risking her drowning.

Count yourself lucky! When I was in the Air Force I saw someone have a Tonic-Clonic seizure. Since my Epilepsy diagnosis, I am around epileptics more because I am part of one internet forum and up until the covid thing a support group. I carry a credit card size USB memory stick with all my medical information in it as well as my advanced directives and who to contact in case of an emergency and/or my death. I also keep oral Versed also.
