With some it's just greed . The QC drivers I worked with could make $1200 in less than 60 hours . A few wanted to falsify logs so they could work 80 hours and make $1600 or more . QC supposedly had zero tolerance for HOS violations .
What are supposed to be the benefits of the new HOS? I see none

Interesting....IIRC....Lockridge used to cite studies that most trucking accidents occur within the first hour of driving...You know after the drivers supposedly completed their "10" or their "8" if they split their bunk time....
-
I've seen those studies and I agree

I can make $1200 just working 40 hrs a week, but that's besides the point. Those idiots you pointed out are the same ones who constantly complain about EOBR's, because they feel the feds are taking their earning potential. They don't like EOBR's because they remove their ability to run illegally. All they care about is their pocket. They don't care about the safety risks they take and they don't care about how they are ruining the industry. Yet these people call themselves: "professionals".

so your on the road away from home, wouldnt you rather drive then sit in truck stop.i pick drive
volvodriver01, Busasamurai and The Breeze Thank this. -
The benefits? Satisfying all the groups who don't like trucks being on their roads. The finger has to be pointed somewhere...and we're their captive target.
-
That is what it will eventually boil down to. I for one also think that the fewer the trucks there are, the better things will be. You can get rid of OTR and expand the LTL division. Send cross country freight via rail and have line haul drivers run it to DCs from the rail yards and vice-verse.
And before you say: "what about the dangerous 4-wheelers", there is a far greater ratio of idiot truckers vs idiot 4-wheelers. Once you've been on the road for a while you'll see where I'm coming from. Case in point: there aren't too many places I go where the speed limit is more than 50 mph. Ironically, the only drivers who hang out with me when I'm driving the speedlimit are 4-wheelers. Other truckers blow by me like I'm standing still. -
The new OHS is to make Anne Ferro feel like she saving lives. Thats it.
Anne Ferro's semi accidents involving fatalities reports. Which was to be done by two independently highway truck investigation report.
Show that fatalities involving a trator trailer was the truck drivers fault. That these fatalities were occurring at the 8th and 11th hourof the HOS.
Were false, and she got caught. By truck friendly groups. Which made congress rise a eyebrow.
The trucking groups poblished thier non profect, profect investigation reports,Insurance fatalities reports & highway patrol accidents/ fatalities reports.
In which they reported that most Semi trailer fatalities were occurring. Between the 1st hour or less of driving. This also indicated that the majority of the accidents. Wasn't a direct results of semi or driver error.
So really Anne Ferro thought we should have a spot of tea & some tea biscuits. Ow well say around 6. Hmmm.
She got p/o when some said she couldnt.
So she came up with a reason. Than it blew up in her face. Didnt stop her.
Congress is doing thier on investigation, At the end well see want happens.
This new HOS rule is most likely dont going to happen.
Fatalities involving semi trailer is at a all time low. And hasn't got any thing to do with Anne Ferro.
Do you know she trying to take are cb radio, stereos,Gps,blue tooths or any electronic device out of semi trucks because she saids thier driving distraction.
I want to know how this woman ever make it home.
If you ask me the problem is she dosent know how to drive and This is her form of road rage against truck driver.
There well never be 0 fatailies on are highways. sad but true.
No matter what you do. You cant fix stupidLast edited: Jun 23, 2013
volvodriver01, 25(2)+2, Working Class Patriot and 2 others Thank this. -
And when all the drivers had to go to EOBR's after a bad audit those drivers quit to go use paper logs somewhere else .
-
I just thought of something . If most accidents are caused by 4 wheelers why do the number of hours a truck driver has driven have any significance ?
