What are the benefits of a long wheelbase ?

No, trucks is TC10. Not sure on other makes, but option was discontinued with Paccar.

 

Can any one help me I am a guy with a long wheel base (306) I know very odd the guy I bought the truck from was hauling steal beams. Since buying the truck he has asked if I could help with some runs to San Diego and I was wondering what the legal Overall leangh can be trailer is 53ft

 

Every state is different. Many have a 75' oal which is why i don't buy a 53.

 

Wow I didn’t know that from what I was told 80 is legal basically everywhere on the interstate

 

When did discountinued ? Was going to get it until I found out the torque rating was only up to 1850 and the gvw was lower than I wanted also when I spoke to a rep he said I would be able to get it in a 579 but not 389 also this was last year ... I definitely want that gmc tho

March 11, 2019. Allison announced that it has ceased production of its TC10 transmission. Effective immediately, no new orders will be accepted for this option.



Customers with new orders may select the PACCAR transmission in place of the Allison TC10.

September 18, 2018. Effective immediately, the Allison TC10 transmission is temporarily unavailable for new truck orders.


Kenworth currently has a limited allocation of TC10s available for builds through early next year for customers with existing orders specifying the transmission. Customers with current orders specifying the TC10 that cannot be accommodated by the current allocation will be contacted by their regional sales team to discuss options.


Customers with new orders may select the PACCAR transmission in place of the Allison TC10.

Wow that sucks for those who already got one if it breaks ... I heard the Paccar 12sd amt is suppose to be hood they also were not available in a 389

 

I wonder y they stopped probably wasn’t doing that good on sales they had like a 8k upcharge and couldn’t fit in every truck I still would have gotten it tho if it had the specs I wanted from what I heard it out performed any other automatic
