well yea out west there are plenty of places to park. I just happen to live right off of I-81 in VA so yea good luck trying to park there. However, Texas or Oklahoma sure there are tons of good places after hours.
What are the benefits of a long wheelbase ?

Ha! That's my run. I'm on I-81 half the week running beer to and from Miller in Elkton.
Tug Toy Thanks this. -
for someone driving a van, tanker it could be considered useless from an operational stand point . Same as if u are trying to get an aero truck to give u aero truck fuel mileage hauling over sized freight .
-
Another advantage to this is the grass burner can save u from having to tarp certain load or smoke tarp it depending on the shipper request
-
Oh yeah, that's what I meant. I don't approve, but that's just my opinion.
@Old Man, great looking truck! I like my Volvo and a clean classic. It doesn't have to be one side or the other. Oh, my Volvo ain't white though!

Same as with an aero truck the usefulness is application specific . Ever pulled a step or rgn? After leaving a muddy area it will get thrown all over your headache rack . And what ever else gets stuck in your tires. If u have a 7k rack like old mad u don’t want the dents and rust spots on that investment. It also helps visibility in rain which is being safer. Especially when your overall length is longer than the average rig.. it also promotes public image. No one wants to be in a car getting so much mist tossed at their windshield they can see anythingrank, Slowpoke KW and Tug Toy Thank this.

I don't know about many states. But over on the western side. Where all my OS has been. It's mostly about the rear overhang.
If you can load it up front. Anything under 4 feet won't need the flags and lights. Rear overhang varies by state. IIRC. I think AZ was the lowest at 6 feet before requiring a permit. WY was the only state that went by length of load. 60ft rebar could actually be 61ft long. You permitted for 61ft. -
Every state sets their own rules with what does and does not require permits. Blanket statements concerning os/od are dangerous which is why i said your prior post was not always true.IH Truck Guy, Al. Roper and Tug Toy Thank this.
