Well, i've come full circle. I was all set to explore used trucks on the market, but i would end up with a high mileage one because i don't have $10-$15k lying around for a down on a newer one. I checked the available inventory Melissa at SFI sent me and found an '14 T680 with the same specs, APU, and miles (82k) for $125k, $13k less than the first one i was quoted, and a full $30k less than a new one! At first i thought it was just a repeat posting, but it was a different truck all together. I requested a quote and pics. It's a 30 month lease instead of 60, and the residual is $62k, which at about 400-450k miles will be below market price when the lease matures. The specs checked out and i pounced on it like an osprey!

Now i'm on a fast track to orientation in Green Bay, tentatively set for May 5th. Because my paperwork will be finalized before the end of April i still qualify for the $5k sign-on bonus, and the $2k maint. bonus. So, barring any snags, i hope to be on board next month. Looking forward to it.
