    Thank you.....

Seems a little retarded to me.....a pup trailer self dumping or a regular dump trailer would be a lot less hassle

Nah, it's an all around rig. It can do several different jobs, run 10 wheel, run two different products, get in and out of places you'd never fit with a trailer. It seems awkward at first but there are literally thousands of them on the west coast. A good transfer driver can dump both boxes and be gone in less time than you think.
Look at some of the YouTube videos.

I would recommend you give this a very, very hard think. Other posts have covered most of the points.

I know 2 FL's that got stopped at Cahoun.
Drop axle down. Drives weighed 35k.

    Gross. 79,750.

2,000 lbs. Had to be unloaded to make drives legal without the drop.

    Tanker loads.

On the west coast we have them all. A lot depends on the job site, Paving a 20 mi stretch of the I-5 VS a parking lot at Walgreens requires different equipment. A word of caution, many hot plants need the trucks to be low clearance, so no tall stacks or high rise sleepers will work. Transfers, bottom dumps and boosters work a lot here.

Double bottoms usually work on highway jobs, runways, street jobs and big parking areas.
The transfers can do all of that but they usually work the smaller stuff.

So the double bottom (belly dump) drops the hot mix right on the ground in front of the paver....?
