I think most drivers have had incidents at one time or another. Many are too good to share.I've bent a post at a gate, knocked a light off the wall in an alley. No real accidents, just small stuff years back.Just remember you're not done till you're parked correctly.Take the extra 30 seconds and get "out and look (goal).Conditions change quickly. It doesn't matter if you drove down this road 80 times, something may be different today! Many wrecks happen in that "last mile".I see a lot of crazy stuff..drivers diving across 3 lanes to cut you off for the exit. When you start to get in heavy traffic"back off ".Don't try to push other drivers.Sure it'll take longer to get there,Who Cares. The goal is no accidents, keep that CDL.Usually when I see a noob with their foot in it driving like a cut cat...I say to myself "Oh,he won't be doing it long" JMO

Leave yourself space, if needed - GOAL. Don't be afraid to GOAL if you have any doubt and don't let people rush you. That pretty much it, man.

Going into an unfamiliar facility/location that you can sense might be problematic, daylight can help avoid gotcha's.

I've stopped reading after post #17. Good advise.

Know your surrounding. Use ALL of your senses. Pull the ear plugs, take down the hoody. They both are a hinder.
Take your time, especially in a hurry.

Your avatar shows a day cab...you will have a lot better sight when backing...but you still have to watch both mirrors. Backing From your right side is just as easy as the left side because you have the rear window to look out.

Give yourself plenty of room when following another vehicle.

Watch what is happening a quarter mile ahead of you, as you will be there in 15 seconds!

Quick u-turns into narrow parking spaces rarely end well, especially right u-turns

Don't watch movies on the iPad while driving and keep both hands on the wheel. Stay away from lot lizards. Don't carry matches and never talk to strangers.

One thing you need to do is keep a good safe following distance.Semis can't stop on a dime like cars so never tailgate.Keep your eyes moving at all times and look far ahead. Many motorist take yield signs as a suggestion and they don't yield,so before passing a ramp always plan the unexpected.Always read your signs,do commentary if you have to if that's what will make you fully alert.Meaning read your signs and surroundings out loud.Pick a lane and stay in it especially thru busy areas. Focus focus focus.
